Abstract (EN)
Since the formation of the world, one of the greatest struggles of mankind has been against natural disasters due to their unpredictability and destruction. Due to the fact that the Anatolian peninsula is located on active fault lines in terms of the geography we live in, earthquakes are one of the natural disasters that cause the most loss of life and damage. Especially the February 6, 2023 earthquakes, which are called the disaster of the century, once again showed us this reality. After the destruction and losses, it became clear that practices and measures taken in many areas should be reviewed. The functionality of many mobile earthquake applications developed to meet the different needs of users during and after the earthquake, especially earthquake applications that send notifications to users during the earthquake, has been a subject of discussion. In this study, citizens living in Osmaniye and neighboring provinces were asked to participate in an online survey using convenience sampling method. The sample of the study consisted of 770 individuals who participated in the survey. Thus, it was aimed to analyze mobile earthquake applications with the information systems success model, and the hypotheses formed based on the six components of the information systems success model, system success, user satisfaction, system usage, system quality and information quality, were tested for accuracy with structural equation modeling. The results of the research will provide a different perspective on the measures taken against the earthquake reality in Turkey. In addition, suggestions have been made on the development and shortcomings of mobile earthquake applications.
