Abstract (EN)

Throughout history, humans have felt the desire and even the necessity to communicate. Today, this need is largely realised in digital media. These digital media, which are changing the way society communicates, are creating user-friendly, functional products that we come across a new one every day. These products are quickly adopted and used by millions from the moment they are introduced to the market. Conversely, it is also noteworthy that companies that strive to keep up with technological developments and convert these millions of enthusiastic persons into their own users are quite willing to develop mobile applications. Accordingly, this has rapidly expanded the number of mobile application developers and continues to do so. The main driving force of this development, as is known, was the transition from desktop computers to mobile applications. Indeed, mobile applications have evolved into powerful tools that shape contemporary needs and preferences. These indispensable design materials, along with their development, have also brought about new design problems. For this reason, the concept of minimal design has begun to be reconsidered today and has become the main focus of mobile applications. Mobile applications developed with skeuomorphic, material, and similar concepts that are incompatible with the corporate identity negatively impact the user experience due to their visually dense and complex structures. This has been one of the most significant factors driving app developers towards a minimalist approach in recent years. In this context, as an example of how to solve this problem, a mobile app prototype was developed using the Figma interface design programme, within the framework of "Gestalt Principles, Cognitive Principles, and Design Principles." The developed prototype was experienced by volunteer university students, and then they participated in the "Kano Model" and "Likert Scale" survey that we prepared based on the same principles. The quantitative data obtained from the survey were compared with the qualitative data. Thus, the solution for developing a user-friendly app with a minimal, aesthetic, high-quality navigation system was presented through sample mobile interface designs.
