Abstract (EN)
The aim of the study is to determine the edge and face withdrawal strength of different wood materials joined by different size number metal screws by taking in to consideration of internal bond strength of these materials. The aim was also to determine the relationship among the used materials taking into account of wood, size of screws and the glue is used or not. In these experiments three types of widely used screws were tested both on the parallel and perpendicular to the surface on four different wood materials. These are Particle board, Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), Werzalit and beech. On the evidence of experimental results, shows as an aspect for screw holding the beech is better than the others on both sides and the Werzalit, MDF and the Particle board are following the beech respectively. It was also seen that whole wood used in the edge of Particle board and the glue used in pilot holes are considerably increasing the holding strength of screws.
