Determination of assesment criterias for PVC edge bands used in furniture industry and development of test methods

In this study, it is aimed to determine the measurable criteria and develop the test methods for measuring these criteria in order to make a common evaluation for the PVC edge bands used in the furniture industry. When the evaluation criteria are set, the experience of end users as well as the mutual demands of furniture and edgeband manufacturers in the furniture industry has been exploited. For some of the criteria set out in the study, the tests described on the samples selected to represent the inexpensive and expensive products supplied by the market were carried out and it was attempted to determine whether the criteria were valid or not. After the experiments, it is understood that the criteria determined are partly sufficient for product comparisons and some criteria need to be developed further.
