Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to investigate the reasons and emergence of the Ihya school, which emerged in the modern Arabic literature period, the school's contribution to Arabic poetry and the innovations it brought. The research was conducted using qualitative and descriptive methods. Undoubtedly, the Ihya school has a great importance in making Arabic poetry effective again in society after a period of stagnation. The absence of a comprehensive study that introduces the school in its entirety has created a deficiency in modern Arabic poetry. The study fills an important gap in terms of eliminating this deficiency. In the formation and development of the Ihya school, examining Western literary schools, political, social and literary life in Egypt, as well as the poems of the five most important poets, constituted the boundaries of the study. School poets transformed poetry from being a tool for personal gain into a medium where feelings and thoughts are immortalized. Poets sometimes expressed the problems of their own society and sometimes wrote about the events in other parts of the world. With the revival school, Arabic poetry has demonstrated its strong presence in social life, from being an effective factor motivating the people in the struggle for independence to being a stimulant that warns the people against the moral collapse in society. At the end of the study, it was determined that although the poets of the Ihya school were influenced by the literary schools in the West and the poets of the Abbasid period, they reflected their own personalities in their poems, both in the classical period themes and in the newly added themes.
