Abstract (EN)
This study determined its approach to the issue through three axes, focusing on revealing the political tendencies of printmaking in the Modern Period. Forming three main axes; the relationship among the Historical Process, the Artistic Process and the Political Process is brought together in a print-centered manner. In the first part, the origin of the relationship between art and politics is revealed, how this structure, which has reflections to the modern period, changed in the process and what changes it discussed in a theoretical structure. In the second part, it has been tried to put forward how this relationship was transformed into the modern period and these changes have been mentioned in theoretically. In the Modern Era, when social, sociological and political differences occur, special structures exhibited by the relationship between art and politics are also explained in this section. In the third chapter, the reflections of the relationship between art and politics on printmaking have been examined and it has been put forward with the examples that this relationship has been in since the beginning of the ongoing structure of printmaking. In this relationship, whose historical beginnings go back far, it is revealed with the examples that printmaking is an active subject of politics in the historical process and that it continues this tradition in the Modern Period. In the last part, where this traditional structure of printmaking in the Modern Period has been mentioned, the position of printmaking in the relationship between art and politics, which became more complex compared to the previous processes and establishes special structures, is based on three models called 'Nation Construction', 'Artistic Autonomy' and 'Avant-garde' and finally the result has been reached.
