Cultural heritage approaches in modern gastronomy museology

Museums display the cultural heritage of the civilizations that are ceased in time, if not only to display the heritage of humanity and its environment. The scientific, technological and economic developments have emerged the Gastronomy Museums from only the display of the cultural artifacts for its visitors. The aim of this research is to highlight the importance of how Gastronomy museums have strong connections between the cultures and how they determine the importance of cultural richness. A Proposal for a Museum of Modern Gastronomy with cultural heritage approaches is planned based on this approach. The research consists of two sections; the first section is detailed literature review about the existing museums and the second section involves the methodology and findings of the research. Hypothesis determined based on the survey results and the factor analysis method used, were evaluated via ANOVA and Tukey methods. The participants attitudes toward cultural heritage in modern gastronomy was analyzed via the survey. The survey results showed that the female participants were more interested in modern gastronomy museums compared to male participants and the interest in the museums also rose as the participants' age rises. The participants of the survey have agreed on the use of technological visual tools and equipment, organize small events in the gastronomy museums. Majority of the participants also mentioned the museums are not being sufficiently promoted in social media. In the light of literature and survey in project museum, it is proposed to involve bio molecular archeological works, in this concept perform academic research in the labs, organize events that would promote product improvements. Most importantly to create virtual rooms to attract younger generation.
