Abstract (EN)
Since the appearance of human kind on earth, he had various needs. Trying to meet his basic needs such as nourishment, sheltering and protection, he led the progress of technological improvements. Initially, technology was independent of since, solely for the purpose of meeting daily needs. Conditions changing in time created a diversity of needs and expectations for the human kind.Science and technology are two inseparable parts that are in a constant interaction. This effect has become more distinct after the Industrial Revolution where art, machine and science blended each other. Image having been recorded chemically, the art of drawing had a new identity. Drawing affected by photography, has witnessed many movements in early 1900s with modernization. The technology of photography has demonstrated the interaction of art and society. Thus, artistic movements had a significant role in making human kind chronological, inspiration and extension of technological culture.In this thesis, the effect of technology and art on each other during the history has been underlined. In order to understand the current point clearly, developmental stages have been stated in a chronological order considering the necessity of introducing developments throughout the history. Periods of significant social transformations in world history were chosen while making periodical distinctions. The effect of photography technology on art production and possibilities thereof were considered.
