The Prerequisites for modernist design is a promising approach

Modernism is a wide-ranging movement that embodies various innovations, ideas and many artistic activities. As a result of the innovation movements in the society, modernism got rid of its borders and introduced a new understanding. Along with the Industrial Revolution and the socio-cultural changes in the society, great changes have occurred in the understanding of art and culture of the artists. The understanding of art, which has changed with the industrial revolution, has increased the techniques and opportunities used by designers together with the developing technology. As a result of these developments in the 20th century, new art movements emerged. These; Cubism, Futurism, Dadaism, Constructivism, De Stijl, Bauhaus and the New Typography Movement. These art movements were greatly influenced by the modernist point of view. Graphic design and typography, shaped by the principles brought by modernism, have evolved together with technology. In this process, various printing techniques such as hand typesetting, linotype, phototypesetting formed the development steps of digital typesetting. In the desktop publishing era, the production of the first computer expanded the field of graphic design and typography. Along with this, various software, programs and applications have been developed. This research focuses on the effects of modernist design principles on today's digital typography. In line with the relationship of modernism with different art movements and the principles of these art movements, the evolution of digital typography until today has been examined with scientific methods together with work analysis.
