Abstract (EN)
In the literature of Modernism/Modernity, it is stated that there is no power over rational mind, science, experiment and observation, which means following the age, keeping up with the age, being against tradition and tradition, and that the motifs of the religious belief system and lifestyle should be removed from the social and public sphere. is the system of thought. The idea of modernism emerged at the end of the 16th century under the influence of the Renaissance and the Reformation; It developed under the influence of the Industrial Revolution, the Renaissance, the Reformation, and the Enlightenment Movement. This trend, which started in Europe, had the opportunity to spread all over the world over time. As a result of this, an attempt has been made to remove religious principles, teachings and sensitivities from their valuable position in the life of believers. The idea of modernism was intended to be adopted by the Islamic society through the intellectuals of the period and by the state in a top-down manner. Some intellectuals of the period, who perceived modernism as Western imitation and defended it to be kept alive in society in this way, argued that the effects of religion should be isolated from the life of the society and that life should be maintained only with rational principles. In addition, there were Muslim intellectuals who pointed out that the West should not be imitated only in terms of science and technique and imitated its culture and lifestyle. There have been some thinkers who predicted that if a lifestyle in which rational principles are centered as a requirement of modernism is adopted in the West, people will keep up with the developments of the age, make progress, attain prosperity, peace and happiness, and even that religion will disappear in time. However, historical facts show that this claim is not true. Over time, people have not been in a period when religion and belief system have completely disappeared, and many people have faced negative situations with the adoption of the idea of modernism. In addition to attaching importance to scientific developments, development and progress, it is argued that rational mind is the only way that leads to absolute truth, no metaphysical subject is given importance, it is pointed out that there is no transcendent power to encompass man, and an anthropocentric approach is correct by asserting that human whims, whims and desires must be met under all circumstances. When the idea of modernism, which causes human relations based on conflict of interests and interests in society, in which religious and moral values are pushed into the background, is evaluated in terms of the Islamic belief system, it turns out that although it has multiple reflections, some of its reflections do not coincide with the Islamic belief system.
