Abstract (EN)
In this study, avi fauna of Mogan Lake, situated within the borders of Ankara were investigated. Land survey was made in between May 1993- June 1994. During this study, bird which were present in summer and winter, migrants and breeders were also determined. Habitat preference of these birds also were observed. 186 species and 6 subspecises were determined during this study. 102 of them were found to be presert in summer, 65 in winter and some of them were found both in winter and summer. 80 species were fount to be migrant and 51 to be breeder. Since birds can be used as bioindicators, we had the chance to determine the level of the pollution in the lake. We believe that the lake which is located in the limits of metropolitan city of Ankara, should be reserved.
