Abstract (EN)
In this study, we aim to identify and compare social, political, economical, religious, and judicial positions of the women living in Egypt, Mesopotamia and Anatolia in the time period until 6th century BC.To sum up the social, political, economical, religious, and judicial positions of the women living in Egypt, Mesopotamia and Anatolia in accordance with the study, we can say;Women contented themselves to fulfill the duty imposed by their gender in social life. Regardless of the society, they always remained a step behind their men. They attended activities such as music, festivals and entertainments just as executives.Joining the management of the country as the wife of the king, and having her own seals in political agreements are the clues that show women took place in political life. These are the evidences emphasizing especially their political life in ancient civilizations. Moreover, Puduhepa is the most mentioned queen and she took an important place in political life. Hatshepsut, a queen who governed the country on her own in Egypt society, is the female governor putting her stamp on history as Pharaoh.Especially in Assyria Trade Colonies in second thousand years BC, women actively participated in commercial life. Apart from the women manufacturing beer, existence of women in trading slaves shows that females are of an important role in economical life.Women participated in religious life by making cult music or placing the altars. Women were given a special importance in society if they are nun. In Mesopotamia, women, perhaps to find the place they deserve in society, served as Temple Prostitution under the protection of the goddess. We face women in every aspects of religious life in different names.Such issues as marriage, divorce, adultery, etc.are the main topics forming the basis of family law in Egypt, Mesopotamia and Anatolian populations. Women?s rights in this field have been widely dealt in the articles of the law.Keywords:- Egypt- Mesopotamia- Anatolia- Women
