Özet (EN)
I propose with this paper that impulsive force behind the Egyptian Revolution is the middle class and the revolution provides better conditions in favor of it. The social transformation that Egypt undergoes is examined with the framework of Eisenstadt?s modernization theory. Systemic alterations that are required to be carried out by neo-patrimonial societies during the process of democratic transition are analyzed with the examination of the political and economic history of Egypt. One of the hypotheses of this work is that continuation of the revolutionist process which has started with the fall of the political authority, and the attainment of a pure revolution can be probable merely by elimination of the remnants of the ancient regime. Another hypothesis is that the rise of Islam in politics beginning with the Muslim Brotherhood is not a part of an ideological agenda but structures related with economic classes which is differentiated pursuant to level of income. Anahtar Sözcükler: 1. 2011 Egypt Revolution 2. Middle Class 3. Multiple Modernities 4. Neo-Patrimonial Society 5. Pure Revolution
