Abstract (EN)

Aim: The aim of this study is to retrospectively examine the distribution and relationships of MTA usage in terms of years, gender, age groups, tooth groups, and application areas in the Endodontics and Pedodontics clinics of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Dentistry. By analyzing the obtained data, the study intends to contribute to the literature on the trends and preferred treatment approaches of MTA usage. Materials and Methods: In this retrospective study, 2406 teeth treated with MTA between 2014 and 2024 were examined. Cases were classified according to the year of application, gender, age, tooth group, and type of treatment. Data were radiographically evaluated using SisoView software, and statistical analyses were performed using SPSS 19 software. The significance level was set at p<0.05. Results: A total of 2406 teeth treated with MTA between 2014 and 2024 were retrospectively evaluated in this study. A general increase in MTA usage was observed over the years. In terms of gender, no significant difference was found between male and female patients. Regarding age distribution, MTA was most commonly applied in the 0– 14 age group. The highest usage by tooth group was observed in mandibular permanent molars (36.2%). In terms of treatment type, MTA was most frequently used in vital pulp therapy (85.8%). Conclusion: The use of MTA has been increasing over time, with its most common application being in vital pulp therapies of posterior permanent teeth during the pre- adolescent period.
