Muawiya B. Salih's life and his hadith scholarship

The subject of this thesis, is about Muawiya b. Salih who was born in 80 (A.H) and died in 158 (A.H). The period in which he lived, have commenced from the last quarter of the 1st century, where the companions and the followings lived together, and ended in the last quarter of the 2nd century in the Hijri calendar. Muawiya b. Salih was born and raised in Humus. Muawiya b. Salih was invited to Andalucia and settled down at the begining of giving the importance to the science of the hadith, after that he migrated to Andalucia. He is one of the first leaders Hadith in Andalucia. He was also a judge in Cordoba. Muawiya b. Salih lived a life of circumcision and tried to convey the words of the Prophet until his last breath. This study, named Muawiya b. Salih's life and his hadiths scholarships, consists of one entrance and two main sections. In the introduction section, some information about the geographic, social and scientific environment of Humus and Andalucia where Muawiya b. Salih's life were given. In the first part, information about Muawiya b. Salih's life and personality was given. It also focused on his childhood, youth and death. In this section, in addition to his scientific and moral personality is tried to be examined and the information obtained in the first source is given. In the second chapter entitled The Place in the Science of Hadith; the distribution of the hadiths in al-Kutub al-Tis'a and the characteristics of the narrations have been examined.
