Muhammad b. İbrahim al-Hasiri's outlook on the madhhabs in his work titled al-Hawi Fi'l-fatawa

This study focuses on the fatwas regarding madhhabs found in the last section of Abu Bakr Muhammad b. Ibrahim al-Hasiri's (d. 500/1107) "al-Hawi fi'l-Fatawa." Fatwas in fiqh books have had an influence on works that were authored in later periods. In this regard, Hasiri's aforementioned work, which holds a significant place in the Hanafi literature, is examined as an example. The introductory stage of this study delves into the subject of the research, its purpose, method and sources. The first section covers the political situation in the time period in which Hasiri lived, his life, works and the work titled "al-Hawi fi'l-Fatawa" in particular, as well as copies utilized in document authentication. The second section provides an analysis of Hasiri's views of his own madhhab, Mâtürîdîyyah, as a member of Ahlu's-sunnah and his outlook on madhhabs on which fatwas exist such as Mu'tazilah, Rafidah, Khawarij, Murjiah, Qaramitah and Jahmiyyah. The third section contains the authenticated publication of the last section of al-Hawi fi'l-Fatawa that comprises the fatwas about the madhhabs.
