Re-evaluation and critical edition of the work of Mohammad b. Mahmud at-Trabzonî al-Madanî (D. 1200/1786) ad-Doraru?s-Samîna

Mohammad b. Mahmud at-Trabzonî al-Madanî, lived in 18. Century, is an Ottoman scholars who worked as a teacher in Suleymaniye moslem seminary and as an administorator in its library. We discussed the work has been called ?ed-Dürerü?s-semîne fî fedâili?l-âyât ve?s-suveri?l-azîme? as an edition-critical study. This work has written according to Qur?anic science containing the virtues of Qur?an (Fedâilu?l-Kur?an) and the mysteries of Qur?an. The work contains the narratives about virtues of verses of Qur?an from Al-Fatiha to Nas.Mohammad b. Mahmud at-Trabzonî al-Madanî?s work has called ?ed-Dürerü?s-semîne fî fedâili?l-âyât ve?s-suveri?l-azîme? exists as two copy at Sulaymaniye Library and contains 18 tractate. One of two copies is in the Fatih section, the other is in Hacı Mahmut Efendi section. Having a copy of ther author and having the same the other two copies of each other has provided the convenience at our study.When writing his work, Mohammad b. Mahmud at-Trabzonî al-Madanî has taken advantages of Suyuti?s work named ?ed-Dürrü?l-mensûr fî tefsiri?l-me?sûr? and the other works and books. The thesis we study indicated the perception of Qur?an of Ottoman society in 18. century.Keywords: Mohammad b.
