Abstract (EN)

Considered as one of the commentators of the modern period, Muhammad b. Suleiman al-Ashkar was born in Nablus, Palestine. He has written works in many fields of Islamic sciences and has become one of the reference sources in our country. However, no studies in Türkiye have been conducted on his life and works. In our research, Zubdatu't-Tafsîr, one of Ashkar's important works, was examined in terms of Qur'anic sciences and his conception of the Qur'an and his approach to the science of tafsîr were questioned. In addition, by comparing it from time to time with Shavkânî's commentary named Fathu'l-Kadîr, the common points and differences were tried to be determined. The effort to avoid interpretation of mutashabih verses, which is the basic paradigm of our commentator, and the cautious attitude towards isrāīliyyāt, were observed through Zubdatu't-Tafsîr, and Ashkar's systematics were questioned. The content of our study consists of two main parts. In the First Chapter, after Ashkar's life and works were introduced, the general features of his commentary and his conception of the Qur'an were examined. In the Second Part, Zubdatu't-Tafsîr was examined through ulûmu'l-Qur'an and tafsîr methods.
