Abstract (EN)
In this study, we examined the scholarship of the Egyptian scholar Muhammad Abu Shahba in the field of hadith. Abu Shahba's active involvement in recent intense hadith discussions inspired us to undertake such a study. The first section of the study covers Abu Shahba life, his works, and his passing. The second section explores Abu Shahba's perspective on the history of hadith, the justice of the Companions, the writing and transmission of hadiths, and the post-Companion era of hadith studies. The third section delves into his definitions of hadith and Sunnah, along with his perspective on the role of hadiths in religion. It also addresses his stance on contentious matters like hadith interpretation and the use of weak hadiths, while the fourth section presents Abu Shihab's approach and evaluations of debated hadiths.
