Abstract (EN)
The topic of this research is the thoughts, comments and assessments of Izzat al Darwazah's commentary on jihad. The aim of the research is to present how jihad should be understood considering Darwazah's approches. Jihad is an Arabic word stems from j-h-d and it means "to use all effort". It is used as the synonym of "struggle" as well. Jihad, according to Islamic belief, incorporates all rituals, deeds and efforts for the sake of Allah. It also guarantees to perform those efforts continually. This research aims at clarifying, in the light of Izzat al Darwazah's comments and assessments, the message of the Quranic verses on jihad. In this study, the Quranic verses related to jihad were determined and then presented Muhammed Izzat al Darwazah's view on them. To make his views clear, comparison was done between his views and other exegetes'.
