Abstract (EN)

Dede Korkut Oğuzname is one of the major works of Turkish language. It is highly significant in regard of bringing the light of wisdom, knowledge and mystery of the past to the present day. The correct transfer of this light depends on its reading and interpretation. In this study, Introduction and the first six stories of Dresden copy of Dede Qorqud Oguzname were studied. It compared two versions of texts. One is by Muharrem Ergin who translated the work into Modern Turkish. The other copy is the one by Azad Nebiyev who translated the work into Modern Azarzaijani Turkish. The study was divided into two chapters. In the first chapter, the historical development process of turkish language was looked into. In the second chapter, two different texts were analysed under the titles of "reading differences and preferences based on dialects, reading differences based on texts, and reading errors that caused meaning differences and misunderstandings." During comparison we observed that misunderstandings and readings were caused by phonetic differences between these two dialects, spelling features, spelling features of ancient Anatolian Turkish and writing of those texts.
