Abstract (EN)
In the Ottoman Society, Waqfs have met the needs of the society, from public services to religious services, from education to financing, and these services have been carried out for the purpose of khayr, not profit. Cash waqfs also played an important role in meeting these services with the income they earn by operating their capital. At the same time, the cash waqfs have contributed to the prevention of the religious and economic problems that arise from the interest. The main purpose of this study is to examine the 1139-year-old Uskudar waqfs by using the records of the Üsküdar Court number 417. And this study aims to reveal and evaluate the data of 1139 in the subjects such as the incomes, expenditures, cash capital operating methods, leasing methods of the Uskudar waqfs.
