Abstract (EN)

This study aims to reveal the perceptions of accounting professionals regarding accounting package programs, the problems they encounter while using these programs, and their proposed solutions. In the study, the effects of digitalization on accounting practices were first addressed, followed by an examination of the role of accounting package programs in professional practice. Within the scope of the research, in-depth interviews were conducted with certified public accountants operating across Turkey to collect qualitative data. The findings indicate that accounting package programs offer significant advantages such as speed, data security, and ease of transaction; however, software incompatibilities, delays in legislative updates, and deficiencies in user training negatively affect efficiency. Consequently, enhancing the compliance of accounting package programs with professional standards, adopting user-oriented software development processes, and expanding continuous training programs for accounting professionals stand out as critical factors for both professional efficiency and the success of the digital transformation process.
