Abstract (EN)
University education is one of the most effective progresses in self-development. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the educational effectiveness of higher education institutions and to increase the studies on this. There are many factors that affect the effectiveness of an educational institution. In this and similar processes, where many criteria are considered and there are many inputs and outputs, effectiveness analysis can make the researcher's job difficult Hence, there are methods to support the researchers in the literature. . In this study, Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), one of the most preferred Multi-Criteria Decision Making Methods, and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), one of the effectiveness evaluation methods are used to evaluate the effectiveness of 12 Universities' engineering faculties in Turkey since 1992, The data of the 2019-2020 academic year used in this study were obtained from the websites of the universities and the official website of the University Ranking by Academic (URAP). The engineering faculties of the universities within the scope of the study were ranked by AHP, considering three main and 11 sub-criteria. Furthermore, the effectiveness values of universities were calculated by DEA based on the same criteria used in AHP. In determination of the effectiveness level, eight of these criteria were set as input variables and three as output variables Inactive units and group of universities as reference for being active were determined. The analysis is repeated with Data Envelopment Analytical Hierarchy Process (DEAHP), another method is used in effectiveness analysis. The results of these two methods were compared. As a conclusion, target values were determined, and suggestions were made for the ineffective university to be effective.
