Abstract (EN)

The Muqaddimat al-Adab is the only work about language in Khwarazm Turkish which is written by Abu'l Qasim Mahmud az-Zamakhshari between 1127-1144 years. The dictionary was presented to Khwarezmshah of that time Atsiz. The Muqaddimat al-Adab is a practical Arabic dictionary which is divided into 5 parts as nouns, verbs, letters (prepositions), noun conjugation and verb conjugation. Today there are many copies of this manuscript which has been translated in Khwarezm Turkish, Persian, Chagatay, Mongolian and Ottoman languages. Today a quadrilingual (Arabic-Persian-Chagatay-Mongolian) manuscript of this dictionary is in Tashkent in Alisher Navoiy Nomidagi Davlat Adabiyat Muzeyi. We choose this manuscript in our study. Our study consists four main parts; Entry, Text, Notes and Index. In Text part we transcript the Persian, Chagatay and Mongolian parts of 111a-533b pages with their Turkish translation in a table. In Notes part, we evaluated the names of herbs and plants which are listed in Chagatay part of manuscript between 027a-032a pages. In the part of index there is the index of Chagatay text of the manuscript with their Turkish meanings and Mongolian equivalent of them from text in Turkish alphabetical order. The source books, dictionaries and articles which we used during this study are shown as reference in the reference part.
