Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to adapt social emotinal development Program prepared for the social emotional development of Syrian children aged 6-7 studying at Temporary Training Centers and analyze the effects of this program on the social-emotional development of children through various assessment tools. In this study, the convergent parallel design was used in which quantitative and qualitative research methods are used together. This study was conducted in the spring semester of 2017-2018 at the temporary training centers in Altındağ district of Ankara province. This study was conducted with 68 children in total, including 44 in the experimental groups. The independent variable of this study which is carried out as a semi-experimental study is social emotional development program while the dependent variable is social emotional development of children.In this study, 44 activities were applied to the children in the experimental groups for 11 weeks. During the study,15 teachers and 5 Syrian families were interviewed. Three scales, one of which was developed by the researchers, were used to assess the effects of the program on children's social emotional development. The effects of Birleşen Dünyalar program on children's social emotional development were evaluated using statistical analyzes of MANOVA and Kruskall Wallis. Findings of this study show that Birleşen Dünyalar Program contributes to the social emotional development of refugee children and the effects of the program are long-term.
