Developing the teacher self-efficacy scale for the education of refugee students

Today, many countries host refugees and immigrants for reasons such as wars, economic problems, terrorism and climate crisis. Our country, which is located between the unstable east and the stable west and has an established system, is also among the countries with the highest refugee population in the world. As in many other issues, problems related to refugee students have started to emerge in educational environments. The most important problem for refugee students is participation in education and social adaptation. It is important for a livable future that refugee children receive a quality education as much as our own students. In terms of refugee students, teacher self-efficacy contributes to students benefiting from educational activities of the desired quality. In the literature review, no teacher self-efficacy scale was found for the education of refugee students. The main purpose of this study is to develop a teacher self-efficacy scale for teachers' education of refugee students in a valid and reliable way and to evaluate the compatibility of this scale between the abilities and skills of the person and the skills and qualifications required by the job. In this study, it is aimed to create a 5-point Likert-type scale whose validity and reliability have been tested. In this study, which was designed as a scale development study, first of all, a literature review was made, possible themes were determined within this framework, and a pool of questions was created according to these themes. This pool of questions was examined by language and field experts and necessary corrections were made. In the next stage, it is aimed to make a preliminary application, apply statistical tests, pilot application and finalize the scale
