Abstract (EN)

Today, the situation under the refugee maintains its place on the world agenda as a very critical problem and concerns our society closely. This research, which is carried out with the aim of examining the education problems of refugee students living in Yozgat, and the proposed solutions, is a qualitative study. The working group drawn up as in line with aim of the research, who had emigrated to Turkey and is currently attending middle school and high school in the city center living in Yozgat 24 refugee students, 18 teachers, 2 guidance teachers, 12 parents, 5 school administrators, two NGO representatives and 4 faculty staff totaling up 67 participants. In the research, semi-structured interview form was used as data collection tool. As a result of the research; the leading causes of refugee students and parents to emigrate to Turkey, they came to be war in the country and is experiencing financial difficulties to come. Language problems and financial problems were the main problems of refugee students and parents living in Yozgat. Participants were determined to think that the school contributed to refugee students in developing their Turkish language, learning languages, and providing them with a suitable environment for socializing. On the other hand, the fact that the participants were not able to adapt to the school even though the children were enrolled in the school, the psycho-social support provided to the children was insufficient, the ethics of attending the school due to the necessity of the children, and the psycho-social support to eliminate the trauma experienced by the children. It was determined that they had language problems in their education and that this situation should be resolved.
