Abstract (EN)
This study focuses on the functionality of translation tools and web sites designed to minimize communication problems for refugees in Turkey and other countries. The fact that the people who having difficulties in reaching the translator (refugees, asylum seekers, etc.) due to their conditions apply to instant solutions via the internet has increased the services of mobile translation tools and web-based organizations that work with volunteerism. While the act of translation sometimes takes place in the daily conversations, it also appears on sensitive and emergency issues within the scope of community interpreting where human life can be intervened. In addition to the speed of translation, especially in sensitive issues such as health and legal processes, information flow and the functionality of communication are much more important. At this stage, to what extent can translation tools meet their functions in quality management? The main research subjects of the study are these tools and websites which are shaped under health, law, disaster situations and basic needs of people such as shelter, food and clothing, and the translation tools functionality and the comments of the individuals who use them related to the topic. The download rates and user comments of these tools will form the empirical part of the study. Some questions will be prepared and emailed to these tools and websites which are analyzed by document and content analysis method. By describing the collected data in terms of quality with some parameters, it is desired to contribute to the field of Community Translation.
