Abstract (EN)
The research was conducted as a cross-sectional descriptive study to determine the birth expectations and childbirth experiences of multiparous pregnant women.The number of women to be sampled was calculated as 320, 4831 multiparous pregnant women who applied to the Delivery Hall of Gaziantep Cengiz Gökçek Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, which constitutes the universe of the research, to have a normal vaginal delivery.As a data collection tool, a questionnaire form and "The Childbirth Expectations and Experiences Scale / CEES -1- CEES-2" (Cronbach Alpha Reliability Coefficient 0.89) were used.In the questionnaire, there are questions about the socio-demographic characteristics of multiparous pregnant women and their spouses and the factors that are thought to affect their expectations about childbirth.The data obtained from the research are in SPSS for Windows 23 computer program; using descriptive statistics, mean, standard deviation, minimum and maximum values were determined.It was determined that 61.6% of the expectations of multiparous pregnant women were met and 38.4% were not met.It was determined that 71.3% of multiparous pregnant women's expectations that they did not expect them to happen were met, and 29.7% of them did not meet their unexpected expectations.It was determined that the mean childbirth satisfaction score of multiparous pregnant women according to CEES-2 was 2.97±0.74. It has been determined that the birth satisfaction level of multiparous pregnant women is at a moderate level. It was determined that multiparous pregnant women answered the majority of the statements in the CEES-2 as "moderately satisfied" and were generally moderately satisfied with the delivery.As a result, it was determined that the expectations of the majority of multiparous pregnant women were met and their satisfaction with the childbirth experience was moderate.
