Gazel performance of Münir Nureddin Selçuk

In this study, the Gazels performed by Münir Nureddin Selçuk in Classical Turkish Music have been subjected and all accesible Gazels have analyzed from the point of makam, form, ornaments and prosody of meaning. The obtained data has been aimed to be used in in vocal education and to contribute to individuals interested in Classical Turkish Music Gazels performance. In the first part of the study; the importance and contents of the vocal performance data of Classical Turkish Music, general information about the Gazel form, Münir Nureddin Selçuk's art life and his importance in terms of Gazel performance have included. In the second part; the notes of all accesible Gazels of Selçuk dictated in computer environment have analyzed in points of form, maqam, ornaments and meaning prosody. In the third part, determinations were reached in line with the data obtained from the findings. As a result, in this study; it has been determined that there is not a standard form structure in the Gazels performed by Münir Nureddin Selçuk, that there is a certain melodic progression in makam usage, that ornamental elements such as mordant and trill used during performance are used for common purposes and that there is a prosody of meaning in some Gazels.
