Analytic literary criticism of Çador by Murathan Mungan

In this study, bearing the title of ?Analytic Literary Criticism of Çador by Murathan Mungan? narration of Çador has been discussed that was written in an imaginative language. A from surface to deep research has been presented by approaching the narration at three basis. In the first part; by giving the analysis of narration, to consider the literary work as a whole has been ensured, in the second part by getting the whole narration into pieces lexical semantics approach has been achieved and in the final part; the metaphors in the narration are studied in order to create a new wholeness from the text that was got into pieces before. In the most important part of this work, which is ?metaphor usage? twelve metaphors have been analysed, these metaphors are; metaphor of car, metaphor of snake, metaphor of way, metaphor of women, metaphor of father, metaphor of word, metaphor of grave, metaphor of death, metaphor of burqa, metaphor of loony, metaphor of dust and metaphor of mountain.As an evocative work Çador, of which narration can be appreciated by many aspects, has existed as a research subject thanks to its being evocative. And because of this reason, the most striking components in the narration: language and the verbalism have been taken into analysis. Murathan Mungan is one of the most important representatives of Contemporary Turkish Literature. His great work Çador, has been studied in linguistics: both by the side of form and of content. With this study it has been desired to show how a simple language limits could be extended by using a dense meaning and articulation.
