Structure and theme in Murathan Mungan's poems

In this study, Murathan Mungan's poems are deeply examined in terms of structure and theme. The study aims to examine what the structural elements of his poems are and how the themes he uses add value to his poetry in terms of aesthetics. Poetry techniques, the characteristics of language and expression used by the poet and also how his life is reflected in his poems are determined in this research. Considering that poetry is formed of semantic layers structure, our study is not bound to a single theory, and different kinds of disciplines are utilized in the light of the text of poetry. In addition, since the poem is considered as a whole consisting of different components, it is used as base and the material that supports it is taken only as a source of the examination. In the introduction part of the study, it is tried to draw the general framework of Turkish literature after 1980's poetry and in the next part, the effects of the author's life and experiences on his literary identity are explained. In the following chapters, the structural features of Mungan's poetry, how language and expression are formed in his poetry, and how the themes are used are examined through different disciplines. In the conclusion part, the place of Murathan Mungan's poetry in Turkish poetry is determined in the light of the findings.
