SUMMARY This exercise had been made about the cows of which names were Brown Swiss, Limousin, Limousin X Brown Swiss and which had been grown up, in Alpaslan Agricultural Corporation beetwen 1995-1998. There were 221 Limousin X Brown Swiss crossbreed and 57 Limousin calves for this exercise. 38 crossbreed calves had been used to observe for growing up in weaning and also 23 male calves for fattening performance. In this exercise, the time of pregnancy for Brown Swiss that had been made crossbreed was 290.4 days for heifers and 289.3 days for cows the general average time was 289.46 ± 0.50 days. The ratio of births without interference was % 59.28 in crossbreeds. Only one calf was born by surgical operation. In statistical meaning, there weren't any difference between sexuality groups according to easiness of giving birth of calves. The Limousin X Brown Swiss crossbreed calves had been averagely measured 39.18 ± 0.41 kilos of weight when they had just been born. According to sexuality groups; male calves were 40.04 ± 0.51 kilos of birth weight and females were 37.54 ± 0.45 kilos of birth weight and the difference between sexuality groups were important in statistical meaning (P< 0.05). At the finish of weaning crossbreed calves had got 44.82 ± 1.20 kg living weight in generally, and during this time they had got 0.533 ± 0.14 kg daily increase. In the same term the males had got 0.521 ± 0.18 kg average daily increase and the females 0.577 ± 0.23' kg but the difference between sexuality groups weren't important in statistical meaning (p>0.05). The crossbreed male calves had been set to fatten when they were 149.17 ±3.31 kg and 6 months of old. And their last weight at the and of this term was 509.45 ± 5.53 kg average. In this term, when time was in between 60 th-90th days they had got min. Increase (0.75 ± 0.05), and the max. Increase was in 300th- 330th days 1.46 ± 0.06 kg. During all the term (360 days) the average increase of living weight had been measured as 1010 ± 0.01 gr. 23 Limousine X Brown Swiss crossbreed bulls had been taken to slaughter for determining specialty of slaughter. Final of it the average slaughter weight had been measured as 551.48 ± 8.86 kg, the average hot carcass weight was 314.52 ± 5.65 kg too. By the final of these data's the dressing percentage had been measured as % 56.98 ± 0.23. Moreover the ratio51 of head, skin, four legs, set and spleen from specialty of slaughter had been measured as % 3.18, 8.57, 1.77, 2.70 and 0.16 in order. The second aim of this exercise is to show adaptation of pure Limousines openly. So, 56 births had been examined carefully in pure Limousines and finally the ratio of birth without surgical operation had been measured as % 96.43, the birth with operation was % 3.57. In this exercise 30 Limousine male calves and 26 Limousine female calves had been born from 56 births. Generally the average birth weight was 24.44 ±0.41 kg. According to sexuality groups, that was 25.0 ± 0.59 kg for males and 23.81 ± 0.56 kg for females, and the difference between sexuality groups was important in statistical meaning (p< 0.05). During the births only one twin birth had happened as free-martin. In Limousines the power of life ratio had been measured as % 91.97 in first 6 months and in first 12 months that was % 87.50. As a result, we have come to a conclusion that the Limousine breeds weren't much better than pure Brown Swiss breeds and Limousine breeds can adapt to area.
