Abstract (EN)

In this study, Lactobacillus plantarum strains were isolated from yoghurt and identified with biochemical and molecular methods. Samples were collected from different regions of Mus. The presence of recA gene was targeted for PCR analysis. Plasmid content were determined for the recA confirmed 40 L. plantarum isolates. No plasmid was detected from any of isolates. Erythromycin (10 μg), kanamycin (30 μg), penicillin (10 μg), chloramphenicol (30 μg), gentamycin (10 μg) and trimethoprim (25 μg) antibiotics were used to demonstrate antibiotic resistance of isolates. L. plantarum isolates showed resistance to antibiotics as follows: erythromycin (50%), kanamycin (100%), penicillin (87.5%), chloramphenicol (75%), gentamycin (87.5%) and trimethoprim (87.5%). Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Escherichia coli ATCC 11229, Pseudomonas aeroginosa ATCC 9027, Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6633, Bacillus megaterium DSM 32, Enterobacter aerogenes ATCC 13048, and Klebsiella pneumonia ATCC 13883 were used to determine antibacterial effects of isolates. Isolates affected the growth of Bacillus subtilis the least and the growth of Enterobacter aerogenes the most. Based on plasmid content, antibiotic resistance, and antibacterial effect, isolate 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23, 29, 32, 34, and 38 are considered as suitable strains for industrial purposes.
