Abstract (EN)

This experiment takes Gazi University Kastamonu Physical Education and Sports College students who took education in Kastamonu Folklore Younger generation sports club and whose ages changing between 20-25, 20 elite female folk dancers as the subject of its study. The aim of this study is to add a new information to the sports literature by examining the impact of acupuncture application on the sportmen?s state anxiety levels In this study it is established that the measurements of anxiety levels before the first race are 39.50 ± 11.08 while the last measurements of the second are 38.10 ± 9.71 (according to control groups). When who compare these results between the first and the last measurements levels, we see that there is % 3,54 decrease in the rates. However, this result is considered to be unimportant (valueless, of no great importance). On the other hand, the measurements made on the experiment group shows the first anxiety levels to be 44.00 ± 11.98, while these levels turns out to be 30.40 ± 4.69 after acupuncture treatment, which means great decrease in the levels. It is stated that this % 30.90 decrease is important statistically as well (p< .01). The comparisons made between control and experiment groups indicate that the statistically slight difference of the first measurements which is % 11.39, is observed to increase to % 20.20 in the last measurement and this result is regarded as noticable statistically (p< .05). Depending on all of these statistic evaluations and observations it is possible to say that acupuncture application has a positive effect on the sportmen?s state anxiety levels.
