Abstract (EN)

Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, who was born in 1881 in Salonika, was graduated from The Salonika Military Middle School, The Monastir Military High School, The Military Academy and The Military College respectively. He joined The Ottoman Army as a staff captain in 1905. He was a member of the generation who had foresight downfall of The Ottoman Empire and seek a way to solve it. This time, that was fragmentation time of empires, had lots of intergovernmental conflicts with weapon and armed rebellions. Ataturk joined the counterinsurgency to Albanian Revolt in 1910. Then he had crowning achievement in all battles which he joined while successive wars of Turkish nation between 1911 and 1922. He started Turkish War of Independence in 1919. He became commander-in-chief and field marshal by The Grand National Assembly of Turkey decision in 1921. In this study, it is examined progress of strategy until Ataturk era, his education, his execution in his battle and his outlook on military basic concepts. It is, also, analyzed Ataturk, who was compared Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar and Napoleon Bonaparte by Mark Twain Society of America, improved himself followed in great strategy thinkers' footsteps in his growth time as a stuff officer
