Müstakimzâde Süleyman Sâdeddin Efendi's life and his views on some theological issues

Among the Ottoman scholars who lived in the 18th century, Müstakimzâde Süleyman Sâdeddin Efendi (d. 1788) wrote many books as well as exegeses on various fields. The translation of Fiqh al-Akbar and translation and exegesis of Hz. Ali`s Diwan (collectes poems) are two of his the many translations and exegeses he`s made. Müstakimzâde Efendi expressed his theological views from time to time in his mentioned translations and exegese. We examined these two works in our thesis and tried to reveal the theological views of Müstakimzâde Efendi. In our view, it is important to identify the theological views of Müstakimzâde Efendi, who is known as the supporter of Ahl al-Sunnah, in order to reveal the religious understanding of the his time. We have not neglected to refer to his other works. In the first part of our thesis, we focused on Müstakimzade Süleyman Sadeddin Efendi's life, works and characteristics of his time. In the second part of the thesis, we discussed the main topics of the Islamic Theology that Müstakimzâde Efendi has analyzed such as tü he relation between faith and action, the situation of the person who commits deadly sins and destiny and fate. We wrote the conclusions that we have reached in the first and second chapters, in the conclusion.
