England?s project of establishing a Kurdish country at Mosul city 1918?1919

Mosul City was one of the important cities of Ottoman Republic. Both negative and positive happenings have happened at this city. People of Mosul to develop themselves on the political, economical and cultural sectors have been very effective for their attitudes against Ottoman Republic. They have sometimes showed an attitude near Ottoman and sometimes against Ottoman. Besides, as a part of Mosul City People, Kurdish have had nationalist activities according to themselves.As the solution of Ottoman Republic to participate at the 1st World War, some groups like Arabic, Kurdish, Assyrian and Yezidi have seen this as a chance to cast from Ottoman. They have chosen to cooperate with the associate power through English. But the associate powers have tied the fate of Mosul to the fate of Ottoman.However, the attitude of the associates against the Kurdish problem was changing. They have undertaken the Kurdish problem at the area for servicing to their problems. At the beginning English and France have supported to Kurdish. The English have wanted the Kurdish autonomy because they were thinking that both it will be a barrier between Mosul and Turkey and they will be able to use it against Arab and Turkish nationalist movements. Soviets were against a Kurdish Republic to be established at the area because they were thinking that Kurdish People can be used by English easily. Besides, they were guessing that a Kurdish establishment at the area will also will make more powerful to the English population. But later Russian Kurdish have been used for abating the English population at Middle East. In that period Mosul was coming across with propagandas of Kemalism for taking Mosul back. But for guarding their interest at the area the English have not been stand idle against the Kemalism propagandas. They have been in local and diplomatically conflict with Kemalism. At the solution of these conflicts English have been able to tie Mosul to Iraq Government.Attitude of Kurdish people against Turkish War of Liberation has been hesitant and changing in general. Besides, when they have not received a support from the associate power, Kurdish were turning their direction directly to Turks for gaining their national rights and getting support.Whatever, the mutual cooperation of Russian and Turkish and as the solution of the victories of Kemalism at Anatolia, the associate powers had to undertake the Kurdish problem again. The English have been forsaken all the promises that they have given to Kurdish People.
