Abstract (EN)
In today's world, the need for digital resources in the translation sector and the alignment of academic education with professional standards are of great importance. This study examines the translation competencies acquired by students of the German and English Translation and Interpreting Departments at Sakarya University during their internship process and their development before and after the internship. The data collected through surveys and interviews show that students significantly improved their translation competencies during the internship. Evaluations conducted before and after the internship revealed a noticeable improvement in the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practice. Consequently, the internship experience has been found to be of great importance in integrating academic education with practical translation skills and significantly contributing to the students' professional development.
