The character analysis in children novels of Muzaffer İzgü

In this study, the development styles, qualifications, types (open, closed, static, dynamic), of the characters in the children novels of Muzaffer Izgu and the value carried in terms of character education are analysed. The universe of the study was determined as the children novels of the author and the books such as Ökkeş Kapıcı, Can Dayım, Kabakçı Amca, Uçtu Uçtu Ali Uçtu, Ekmek Parası ve Kuşadalı Metin Kaptan were cited as examples. When the theoretical framework of the study is composed, the evaluation and information about character, children literature and character education background in children literature are presented. In this study, means of documentation research method, which is one of the qualitative research methods is used to reveal the characteristics of the characters in the novels and the values and the values in terms of their development styles, types and character education are determined and tabulated. A number of results are reached according to the findings: The characters are generally developed using both developmental methods (dynamic, explanation). It's seen that most of the main characters are open and most of the secondary characters are closed characters. It's concluded that the overall character has stable and less dynamic character. It's found that there are many characters that have positive features, children feel close to and make readres confront with the realities of life. It's found that characters have similar qualifications and the qualifications such as animalism, environmentalism, being content with what one has, diligence and benevolence are dominant profoundly. It's reached that some characters can be used for character training.
