Analysis of Muzaffer İzgü's story books in the context of politeness strategies

In our study, Brown and Levinson's Politeness Theory has been examined in the context of its use in Turkish language in Turkey. To determine how Politeness Theory manifests itself in Turkish, especially in which contexts and with which linguistic structures, Muzaffer İzgü's "Ökkeş Series," consisting of 10 books titled "Ökkeş Lunaparkta, Ökkeş Kurt Avında, Ökkeş Balık Avında, Ökkeş Kapıcı, Ökkeş İşportacı, Ökkeş Bahçıvan, Ökkeş Otoparkta, Ökkeş Maçta, Ökkeş Dolmuşçu, Ökkeş Denizde," has been selected as the subject. The introductory section of our study includes the problem statement, research question, research purpose, significance of the research, limitations of the study, and definitions related to our study. The theoretical explanations are presented in the second section of the study, while the third section covers the methodology used in the study, research model, population and object of examination, and information about data collection and analysis. The findings obtained as a result of the analyzes are explained in detail in the fourth section of the study. The findings of the study vary according to politeness strategies, but in general, Brown and Levinson's (1978, 1987) politeness strategies are used in Ökkeş Series in different contexts and linguistic structures. In the fifth section of the study, the findings obtained in the study are compared with other studies in the literature on politeness theory, which is the subject of our study. The data obtained are explained in detail in the sixth section of the study and the study is concluded.
