Abstract (EN)
Nowadays, with the understanding of contemporary museology, museums and visitor relations have gained importance and museums have started to have a visitor-oriented approach. In this case, draw attention to the experiences of visitors in museums. Although many aspects of visitor experiences are investigated in the research, it is observed that emotional experiences are not explained in a comprehensive way. In this thesis study, it is aimed to determine how the works exhibited in museums in Eskişehir compose the emotional transmissions in visitors. In addition, determining what kind of emotions creates in the visitors of themed museums and to make an overview of museums in the city are also the main objectives of this study. In this context, firstly, the websites of museums located in the city center were scanned and information about museums was obtained. After that, 9 museums which includes works in their collection that can transmit emotions and with a specific theme were chosen. In the study where qualitative approach was adopted, the method of interviewing was used as data collection technique. Face to face interviews were carried out with totally 127 participants from amoung all visitors who visits the determined museums between December 2017 April 2018. While the preparation of research questions and the assessment of the emotional status of the participants it was benefit from Tolstoy's theory of emotional transmission. The texts created by the decryption of Interview records were analyzed and the results obtained were evaluated. When it take into consideration the assessments which come from within the scope of utilizing the theory of main themems created by Anti-mimicry, Romanticism, Expressionism, The Nature of Emotions and The Intensity of The Transmission, It was concluded that with all the aspects, museums can provide the emotional transmission apart from the themes of mimicry and religious feelings. The results of this study are important in terms of showing the effect of the theme of the museum and the emotional statements of the works on visitors.
