Abstract (EN)
It is an undeniable fact that technology is in contact with every scientific field, including music theory. When the international literature is examined, it is understood that musical analysis studies with computer software have gained momentum especially in recent years, and new software developed makes it possible to reach different data types. In our country, it is seen that the number of software-supported analysis studies on Turkish Folk Music works is almost non-existent. In this study, 51 musical works determined to belong to the Silifke region were analyzed rhythmically with a Microsoft Excel macro written in Visual Basic for Applications programming language. The aim of the study is to reveal the characteristic rhythmic structure of the region. The notes of the works belonging to the region were obtained from the Turkish Radio and Television Institution repertoire and published articles. Before the analysis, the chart created with the title of "numerical equivalents of the meters" was used to transform the data. The analysis process was carried out with two different processes in order to determine the number of weighing used in the works and to determine the repetitive rhythmic structures. In the continuation of the research, the distribution of the works according to the measurement marks and tempo information were obtained with classical methods. Under the heading of findings, each work has been interpreted in itself, based on the data obtained. In the last part, especially the rhythmic structures that are frequently repeated in the musical works of the Silifke region; Inferences generalized to all local works were made by making use of the findings of the meter types used in the works, tempo information and the percentage distribution according to the time signature of the works. In addition, it has been revealed that Turkish Folk Music works can be analyzed rhythmically with the VBA programming language, and thus it is possible to detect repetitive rhythmic structures in works specific to a particular region. As a result, it has been seen that the characteristic structure of musical works belonging to a certain region – in this study, rhythmic- is revealed through the data obtained.
