Investigation of the prospective music teachers' attitude and perceptions of self-efficacy towards individual voice training

This research was carried out to evaluate the prospective music teachers' attitudes and self-efficacy perceptions towards the individual voice training course and they were examined in terms of various variables. For this purpose, Tülay Ekici's individual voice training attitude scale and the individual voice training self-efficacy scale developed by the researcher were applied to the prospective music teachers. The research population consisted of the 3rd and 4th grade students studying at the Faculty of Education Music Teacher Education Program in Turkey, and the sample of the study consisted of 274 students (101 male, 173 female) studying at the Faculty of Education Music Teacher Education Program at Marmara University, Inonu University, Harran University, Adnan Menderes University, Trabzon University, Mehmet Akif Ersoy University and Cumhuriyet University in 2018-2019 academic year. As a means of collecting data, self-efficacy scale developed by the researcher and Ekici's (2012) individual sound education attitude scale was used with permission. After the self-efficacy scale was developed, expert opinion was obtained from 3 experts. In the analysis of the data, depending on the sub-problems of the research, descriptive analysis (percentage and frequency) and t test and Anova and Welch tests were performed. Independent groups t-test was used to determine the self-efficacy scale scores of Individual Voice Training Lesson Attitude Scale and Individual Voice Training Course according to gender and graduated high school type. In the cases where the variance is viii homogenously distributed in Individual Voice Training Course Attitude Scale and Individual Voice Training Course, The Single-Level Anova was used to determine the change in the Self-Efficacy Scale scores according to the Grade and the University and Welch tests were performed in cases where the variances were not distributed homogeneously. In the cases where there were significant differences in the Anova test, the Sheeffe test was used to determine the differences among the groups; in the cases where there were significant differences in Welch test, Games Howell test was used to determine the differences among the groups. In the rusults of the research, no significant differences were found in the variables of gender, class, graduated high school type and university. However, in the result of individual voice training course attitude scale, significant differences were found in the university variable. Suggestions were made based on these results.
