Music education student's achievement levels concerning fine arts high school's individual voicetraining learning outcomes

This study aims to determine the level of achievement of music teacher candidates' individual vocal training course outcomes in fine arts high school. The research is a descriptive study that is carried out in a survey model. The maximum diversity sampling method, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used in the study. In this context, the sample of the research; Selected from 7 geographical regions of Turkey, active in the spring semester of the 2019-2020 academic year and the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year, the faculty of education, the department of fine arts education, providing sound education in the departments of music education Vocal educators who voluntarily participate (n = 21) and first and second-year students (n = 206) who are graduates of the fine arts high school, attend this course and participate in the research voluntarily. In the research, a questionnaire developed by the researcher in two separate forms for voice educators and music teacher candidates was used as data collection. The data were obtained via the Google forms application on the internet and via e-mail in two academic semesters covering the distance education process due to the pandemic: the spring semester of the 2019-2020 academic year and the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. In the analysis of the data related to determining the level of achievement of preservice music teachers individual vocal education course outcomes of the fine arts high school, (f) frequency, (%) percentage, and ( ) arithmetic averages of the scores were taken. The level of achievement of each of the music teacher candidates for the individual vocal training course was determined by their arithmetic to mean. It was determined after examining the normal distribution characteristics of statistical technical data points to be used to determine whether there is a significant difference between the opinions of voice educators and music teacher candidates regarding the level of achievement of individual vocal training course outcomes of music teacher candidates. "Mann Whitney U" test was used, which is one of the non-parametric statistical techniques, to compare the opinions of sound educators and music teacher candidates about their levels. As a result of the research, it was determined that according to the opinions of the voice educators, the level of achievement of the music teacher candidates' individual vocal education course outcomes in the fine arts high school was at a medium level in terms of the majority of the outcomes. According to the opinions of the music teacher candidates; It was concluded that the achievement levels of the fine arts high school individual vocal education lesson outcomes are at a high level in terms of the majority of the outcomes. In the study, it was also determined that the opinions of voice educators and music teacher candidates about the achievement levels of individual vocal education lesson outcomes differ significantly in terms of the majority of the outcomes. Suggestions were given in line with the results obtained from the research.
