ivA STUDY ON THE VIEWS OF INSTRUCTORS OF HIGHEREDUCATION INSTITUTES TRAINING MUSIC TEACHERSON INDIVIDUAL INSTRUMENT EDUCATION (GUITAR)TEACHING PROGRAMS(Thesis of Masters Degree)Engin ÖZYÖRÜKGAZ UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCESAnkara 2006ABSTRACTThis study focuses on the views of the guitar instructors of the HigherEducation Institutes on the general situation of individual instrument education(guitar) teaching programs and aims to make a contribution to the related field.Qualitative data in the study were obtained by scanning sources, whereasquantitative data were obtained from the questionnaires that were answered by theteaching staff. The findings that were obtained from the evaluation of the datacompiled from the questionnaires using descriptive statistics, were discussedaccording to the purpose of the study, interpreted and explained by tables and graphs.The results of the study indicated that the programs used in the institutionswere different from each other, six-item teaching program was rarey used and thecurriculum was insufficient for a healthy execution of the programs. It wasdetermined that teaching staff used different implementation of basic subjects such asvresources used, repertoire and measurement-evalution methods. Teaching staffworking at different institutions did not communicate with each other and executestudies together.
