Boundary approximations for reliability of consecutive-k-out-of-n systems

Abstract (EN)

This thesis consists of five chapters. In the first chapter, the historical development of the thesis subject is explained and the systems using in the thesis are introduced. In the second chapter, the basic definitions and terms which will be used in the next sections, are discussed. In the third chapter, some methods suggested in the literature for calculating the reliability for linear(circular) consecutive-k-out-of-n failure(successful) systems are given. In the fourth chapter, firstly the current boundary approximations for linear(circular) consecutive-k-out-of-n successful systems and linear consecutive-k-out-of-n failure systems are examined. Then, by using minimal cut set property, some of the examined approximations about linear failure systems are recommended for circular failure systems. In addition, the results obtained according to some n, k and q values in order to compare these examined approximations are given in the tables. In the fifth chapter, sample model applications are given for these systems being examined. The results of the suitable the boundary approximations proposed in the fourth chapter for these sample model applications are given with graphs.
