Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, N,N'-bis(ferrocenlymethylene) ethylenediamine (FcNN) (1) was synthesized as a result of condensation reaction by using ferrosenkarboksialdehit (FcCHO) and ethylenediamine. This compound was reduced with LiAlH4, N,N'-bis(ferrocenlymethyl) ethylenediamine (2) was obtained. The new compound, N,N'-Bis(ferrocenlymethly) imidazolidinium chloride (3) / bromide (4), which has the potential to be used as precursor in the preparation of ferrocene containing carbene complexes, was synthesized as a result of a ring closure reaction between N,N'-bis(ferrocenlymethyl) ethylenediamine (2) and ammonium chloride / ammonium bromide in trimethyl orthoformate. Also we obtained imidazolinium salt in a different way (4 step). N,N'-bis(ferrocenylmethyl) imidazolidine (5) was obtained by reaction of N,N'-bis(ferrocenlymethyl) ethylenediamine (2) with %35 formaldehyde in acetone. N,N'-bis(ferrocenylmethyl) imidazolinium tetraflouroborate (6) salt was obtained by reaction of this compound and tritylium tetrafluoroborate in CH2Cl2. Reactions between N,N'-Bis(ferrocenlymethly)imidazolidinium chloride (3) and various metal salts' {Ag2O, Pd(OAc)2, [Rh(µ-OMe)(1,5-COD)]2} were investigated. The compounds' structures were characterized by melting point, elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR; electrochemical and antimicrobial properties were investigated.
