SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF N, N" - DD7HENYL - N*, N,M - BIS (SUBSTITUEPHENYL) - C, C -p - PHENYLEN DIFORMAZAN AND SOLVENT EFFECT ON THEDR ABSORBTION SPECTRA (M. Sc. Thesis) Ebru U?UR GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY NOVEMBER 2000 ABSTRACT In this study, some diformazans were synthetized by coupling component terephtalaldehyde-bis-phenylhydrazone with diazotized anilin and some anilin derivates. The compounds have been characterized by spectroscopic methods and elemental analysis. Visible absorption spectra of the diformazans were examined in various solvents. In addition, effect of acid, base, concentration and substituents on the absorption spectra of the compounds were examined.
